WELCOME BACK TO THE 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR!
We are so excited to welcome you all back and hope this is a successful year for all! If you have not done so, please join our PTVO Facebook page. In addition to the jcswv.org website, this is a great place to get up to date information about our school!
We will be welcoming our teachers back on Monday, August 11, 2025. You will be receiving a phone call from your child's teacher prior to Friday, August 15, 2025.
What You Need to Know:
1. IF your child had been assigned Ms. Thomas, Ms. Tubergen, or Mrs. Seal, your child has been assigned a new teacher. We are welcoming Mrs. Royster, Ms. Cook, and Mrs. Kaiser from Blue Ridge. We are still hiring a second grade teacher to replace Mrs. Bowles.
2. We will have 6 Kindergarten classes this year! We welcome Mrs. Milburn to our Kindergarten Team.
3. Friday, August 15, 2025 is our Back to School Night. All families will enter on the side of the building through Door 6 and 7. If you are a Kindergarten parent, you will arrive at 5:00 for a brief presentation in the gym. First Grade will arrive at 5:30 p.m. and second grade at 6 :00 p.m. After the presentation in the gym, you will be dismissed to your child's classroom to meet the teacher.
4. Kindergarten students do not start on Monday, August 18, 2025. They attend school that day with their parent and will have their official first day on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.
5. Welcome to Priscilla Rodd who will be our Administrator in Residency this year!

CONGRATULATIONS! You have completed the 2024-2025 school year. We are so grateful to each of you for your support, for volunteering, and all the things you have done for us this school year. Most importantly thank you for sharing your students with us!
Summer office hours will be posted on our website in the event you would need to contact us over the summer break.
Want to know who your child's teacher will be next year? For rising first and second graders, look in their report cards for a letter. Should you have questions or concerns, please e mail Mrs. Shaffer at nshaffer@k12.wv.us to discuss or to set up an appointment.
We hope you all have a relaxing break and look forward to seeing you all in August!

JCS REMINDER: All JCS schools will operate on a 2-hour early dismissal tomorrow, Friday, May 30, for faculty senate meetings. We look forward to seeing you all in the morning to say hello and goodbye one last time before summer break.

ONE MORE WEEK! It is hard to believe we have 4 short days left of the 2024-2025 school year. I could not be more proud of your students! Just a reminder that there will be no lunch visitation next week! We will welcome you all back next school year!
If you are a rising first or second grade student, please check inside your child's report card for teacher assignment for the 2025-2026 school year. Should you have questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.

Thank you to all parents that sent in special items in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week! I know I am so grateful for all staff at PJE! Also, thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we had to postpone our field day due to the weather forecast. We look forward to outdoor fun next Friday, May 16, 2025.
It is so hard to believe that we are starting the final three weeks of school. I am amazed at the progress the students have made this year!

TGIF! What beautiful weather this week for our students to get out and enjoy! Our second graders had a wonderful trip to Harper's Ferry! Next week, we are thanking our staff during Teacher Appreciation Week! Each day we will be doing something special for our staff. Huge Thank You to PTVO for providing lunch on Tuesday and THANK YOU to Zavaree and Zendaya Jone's Family for providing lunch to us this past Monday!
Don't forget Field Day is Friday with a rain date of 5/16! We look forward to a day of fun!

TGIF! What a fantastic week back after spring break! The weather was amazing! Don't forget to head out tonight at 5 p.m. for our annual Spring Fling! Games, Raffles, food and fun to kick start your weekend!
We are ending April and quickly moving into the very busy month of May! Our students are working hard on our end of year assessments, and it is so important for them to be here and on time each day! Let's end the year with the highest attendance rate!
